As soon as I saw Andrew Kinsman’s art I knew he would have been the only person able to tell my story and my philosophy. I worked for many years as a fashion catwalk top model for the world’s leading fashion designers in the 80s and 90s including Gianfranco Ferrè, Karl Lagerferd, Fendi, Gianni Versace, Krizia, Laura Biagiotti, Gian Marco Venturi and Rocco Barocco. I’ve now been working for over twenty five years as an image consultant, fashion designer and stylist. I help my high profile clients to create an appearance that reflects their authentic self, enhancing, developing and maintaining a strong and positive image that can lead to increased personal and professional success. I strongly believe in the power of art and beauty: they are positive and dynamic energies that have the power to convey emotion and express individuality as well as collectiveness. They can be felt through each of our senses yet they are more magnificent when they transcend all five. I wanted a portrait painting that could reflect all these elements. Andrew achieved this goal beautifully. My new atelier had just been renovated so I had the ideal place to hang it.

I have often seen Andrew‘s work online and admired his skill from afar. Whatever the subject, he seems to capture the “decisive moment” and atmosphere of his studies. Most people don’t appreciate how difficult this is, in addition to painting in the photo realistic style which Andrew is a master of. Sometimes, in the “process” of creating a piece of work, whatever that may be, the “life” in a given subject is lost, this is never the case in Andrew’s work . Which brings me to the painting I bought from him… It is an enigmatic portrait if ever I saw one. What’s more is that I think of the woman portrayed as an Eleanor Rigby character joining, visual art with one of the best songs ever written. This feeling of story and narrative Is deeply embedded in all of Andrew’s work, which is something I truly love. To own an original painting by a contemporary artist has always been an ambition of mine, and I contacted Andrew for a viewing of the aforementioned work . It was even better “in the flesh” so to speak, and I could only marvel at Andrew’s incredible talent, which is hard fought for, that had created such a lovely piece of work . Not that it is a struggle for Andrew to paint whatsoever, not now, but we must all remember nobody is an expert, master or virtuoso. when they first pick up a brush or indeed a guitar or piece of clay…It takes hard work discipline and a lifetime invested in your art form. There is no fast route to the top where Andrew clearly resides . I collected the painting in person and have remained in contact with Andrew since he’s always upbeat, courteous and polite. I’m sure he is very busy but he makes time to reply and is always seeking the next challenge and sharing his wonderful results online. I had admire this artist greatly. That’s not to mention, I have in my posession an original painting that I enjoy seeing every day, and will pass on to my children.

I’m the proud owner of a few of Andrew Kinsman’s early works circa ’89 to ’93. I’m happy I purchased them when I did as his prices have got up so much since. However I’m positive I’ll buy another beautiful original in the future.

Andrew Kinsman did a beautiful large charcoal drawing of my wife blowing a bubble while she was pregnant with our first child. It was such a symbolic piece of artwork, marrying beauty and fragility. It stands as a testament to that important and unique time of our lives.

I was introduced to Andrew Kinsman while he was traveling throughout Italy to develop his new project ‘Painted Lives, The Grand tour of Italy’ a modern Grand Tour of Italy that referred to the historical Grand Tour which was undertaken by aristocrats, artists, writers and poets predominately around the XVII XVIII centuries. I very much value tradition and history so as soon as I saw Andrew Kinsman’s Fine Art Gallery and the catalogue of prestigious clientele he’d painted previously, I knew he was the right artist to paint my portrait to celebrate the 80 year anniversary of acquiring the Badia di Morrona estate and surrounding 600 acre landscape. I love the extraordinary precision and realism of his art and the portrait was beyond even my greatest expectation. Andrew created another aspect to this portrait by creating a film, by documenting the making of my ‘Portrait’ physically and metaphorically and celebrating my life, my family and my business. I was introduced to Andrew Kinsman while he was traveling throughout Italy to develop his new project ‘Painted Lives, The Grand tour of Italy’. At that time I was rehearsing the character of Kent in King Lear at Borgo Medievale In Turin. The character of Kent is very similar to my own. In 30 years of working in theatre and TV King Lear has been the most fascinating and challenging of all so I was intrigued to see how Andrew would depict this character in paint, not only did he get the exact amount of realism necessary but he somehow made it iconic. Every time I look at this portrait it instantly takes me back to playing that role.

I met Andrew Kinsman at the Royal Palace in Turin during his time in Italy as he was developing his new project ‘Painted Lives, The Grand tour of Italy’. As the Director of Musei Reali of Turin I was fascinated by his project and wanted to get involved. Andrew was commissioned to paint my portrait having part of the beautiful old library as the backdrop to his painting which is one of my favorite rooms in the entire Palace. Andrew and his team, as they were filming this process were impeccably professional throughout. The portrait painting of me is so captivating and engaging as he was really able to capture my nature.

Our family has had a strong and special bond with Palazzasso since 1500. The roots of the Galleani d’Agliano family date back to the beginning of 1200 and we are really proud of this legacy. We were introduced to Andrew Kinsman because we wanted a portrait of our family to complement the beautiful and ancient artwork of this Palace. We immediately noticed that all Andrew’s work evoked a sense of History and Tradition, being able to unify past and present. Andrew and his team were curtious and very professional and they made the entire process an absolute joy, we loved hosting them. We see Andrew not only as an incredibly successful artist but as a friend too as we’ve realized he immediately sensed the essence of our house and our history.

Andrew Kinsman produced a limited edition run of 25 prints of his ‘study of uthopia’. The print features Carl Hester’s London Olympic Gold medal winning horse, which made it a must have for horse lovers and art collectors. As a generous gesture, Andrew and Carl signed the number one print of the limited edition exclusively for the Lady Joseph Trust Charity Auction. The Lady Joseph Trust Charity Auction was fortunate enough to receive Andrew’s work as a donation, and it proved to be a highly sought after item. The print with the exclusive signatures generated frenzied bidding, which demonstrates the high regard for the Artist and Carls equestrian achievements within the community. The Lady Joseph Trust was honoured and delighted to have been able to offer such a special piece for auction, and the proceeds raised go towards supporting Great Britain Para dressage.
